DIY Investors Could Use a GPS. So I created this one.
Earlier this month, I presented "Ladders and Collars and ROAR, Oh My," a presentation to an invited group of existing members of Sungarden Investors Club, the investment coaching group I lead at Seeking Alpha, as well as some of our long-time followers on Substack.
In the session, I covered a wide range of topics, bringing together in one place my 130,000+ hours as a career investor/strategist/fund manager, former advisor and current investment writer and educator. Within that, I addressed things like:
· There's too much hype and not enough help: The opportunity to provide real-world education and insight to DIY investors my industry keeps missing.
· Modern markets are just different, so we'd better evolve with them. With FOMO and MOMO running wild, and risk management a forgotten art (and science), I reviewed some of my go-to approaches to reduce the risk of taking risks. And even introduced another acronym: MOFO.
· Investing doesn't have to be complicated. But it does require a true process. How my own research has been streamlined to provide a platform that DIY investors can use as they wish, but with regular, live interaction with me, as well as my industry friends.
The full session ran about 80 minutes which we will publish in sections for ease of use.

One of the most impactful parts was a DIY investor self-survey I recently developed. We have made it available for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves as a DIY investor. So take it if you wish, and I hope it helps you.
