Research deck updates+market notes
Tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1PM ET: "big reveal" of our newest features for subscribers
Pardon us for being excited about this, especially on a Monday. But this past weekend, Dana and I were doing our best impersonation of the rock band “Loverboy” and their 1981 hit, “Working for the Weekend.”
We were determined to finish up the key enhancements planned for the ETF portion of our service. So we did. Paid subscribers to the full SIRG service will see them the next time they pull up the shared Google sheet that is my personal research deck, which is what we offer direct access to for SIRG subscribers.
Note that subscribers to ETF Yourself, which is the ETF-only portion of our full SIRG service, get access to all of these enhancements through their ETF-only research deck.
These most recent enhancements were focused on the ETF part of Sungarden’s investment research, along with the new 3’s REPORT, our new free weekly letter, which is also in the sheet. We’ll update that tomorrow and every Tuesday, and in a more blog-friendly format than the grid version that resides in both research decks.
Next up:
Tuesday (tomorrow) at 1PM ET, I’ll walk through my current thoughts on our CORE ETF portfolio, using the newly enhanced research deck as a guide. This will allow current and curious potential users of our services to get a “live demo” of what it is and how I use it. We’ll record the session in case you miss it, and post that to our site by Wednesday.
This Thursday (9/19) at 4PM ET, we’ll talk about dividend investing, using the new YARP™ research center we are debuting that day. This was to be tomorrow’s session, but since we just finished the ETF upgrades, and the equity enhancements will be ready by Thursday, that makes more sense.
About those new ETF research deck features
Here are a few snapshots for those who are not currently subscribers to ETF Yourself or the SIRG service. As a reminder, SIRG can be purchased directly through this site, and ETF Yourself (the lower-priced, ETF-only version) can be subscribed to at our other Substack site, ETFYourself.com.
Among the enhancements, the site menus themselves have been consolidated. We are still moving some older posts to their new homes, so bear with us on that. As you can see, ETF Yourself is now simply a subscriber signup and access portal. All of our free research posts and all other aspects of our work are now centralized at SungardenInvestment.com. Here’s what the ETF Yourself site looks like now:
And here is how the Sungarden site is laid out now. Our goal was to make it cleaner, to the point, and have the tabs each direct visitors to a specific area of interest. So there are specific tabs for the weekly letter, trade alerts, the SIRG research deck, the 3 sub-strategies I use for our personal portfolio and a media & learning section, which will soon contain a combination of my media appearances, live Zoom sessions and investment learning material.
ETF research deck snapshots
Here are a few swaths taken from the new ETF deck, which of course is also one set of tabs in the full SIRG service deck. Below, see a small section of the ETF Research Map, and 2 tabs that detail the past trades and realized gains from the CORE ETF portfolio back to the start of 2023.
For what it is worth, 80% of the completed trades in CORE ETF over that time were profitable, and all current ETF positions are in the green as of this writing. While we can NEVER predict what will happen from here, we think it does speak to the relative steadiness that our risk-managed approach to investing is capable of producing, versus the more common “high risk/high reward” publishing products out there.
As our current subscribers have come to realize quickly, pursuing maximum return with less regard to risk is easy to find…elsewhere. Folks come to Sungarden in many cases because they are moving on from that, or perhaps decided to manage some of their money on their own and want to learn to incorporate dedicated risk management from day one.
So join us LIVE tomorrow and Thursday if you can. Otherwise, look out for the recordings, as well as some “best cuts” from our 2 live sessions earlier this month, which we will post to the site ASAP.
In addition to the live Zoom gig tomorrow, I’ll have the latest free 3’s REPORT out then, and some charts of interest. This continues to be both one of the most complex yet opportunistic markets of my 38-year career. And I look forward to sharing my perspective with our rapidly-growing community.
Best regards,
Rob Isbitts
