In this issue:

  • Indexes: Investors will habitually focus on stock investing, for excitement and profit potential. But I think bond investing, particularly US Treasury Bonds, are getting VERY interesting. I’ll explain how and why the profits there could dwarf those of the stock market in the coming years.

  • ETFs: The relationship between QQQ and DIA is making SPY less relevant. I explain what I see, and where I think it’s going. Hint: 2025 is shaping up like another year during this century. But it is not one most strategists talk much about. I’ll explain below.

  • Stocks: I analyzed chart patterns for all members of the S&P 100 (100 biggest US stocks). I show the 3 best chart setups from that group.

  • Other timely stuff: NEW feature! In a separate post, I’ll be trying a supplement to the 3s Report. It is focused more in a trader’s time frame. Once a week, I look out at stocks announcing earnings within the next 7 days, with the goal of taking small positions in the ones I believe have the best chart setups. This is part of a bigger project we internally refer to as “ROAR Charts.” Because I apply the same analysis that has produced sustained success in the 2-ETF ROAR portfolios, to try to identify stocks with strong reward/risk tradeoffs. With earnings as a potential additional catalyst.

Plus, 3 quick thoughts on markets and the latest update to the ROAR Score. Here’s this week’s 3s Report.

3 Quick Thoughts on markets

  • The stock market has gone “full casino.” But as opposed to other times in my career, where I was more naysayer than willing participant, I’m really embracing it. Because when you know how to PLAY OFFENSE AND DEFENSE AT THE SAME TIME, you always have an escape hatch if and when things suddenly get rough. Which they will. I just don’t know when.
