The words won’t mean much to you unless you truly understand them. But I’ll explain them below, in my terms. Drawing in fact from something I wrote in an investing book, which came out way back in 2006.
That book was called “Wall Street’s Bull And How To Bear It.” It is out of print. Instead, you have the content of ETFYourself.com, where I take the investing lessons learned over 40 years in the business, and try to boil them down to bite-sized nuggets of insight.
Among many foundational topic discussed in that book (which had a cover that was, let’s just say, intriguing) was the importance for investors to understand 3 words which are to me, literally the ABCs of modern investing. And I dare say, 2026’s markets are bringing them front and center. Let’s explore, then look at the current risk and return setup across global markets.
